Internship Program
The District provides paid internship opportunities to college students that have an interest in the science and policy of water conservation and natural resource conservation. Each year a qualified intern has the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through both laboratory and field work. Each internship is tailored to meet the educational requirements and interests of the intern. BCRAGD strives to give interns a real-life experience that will be a segue way to a future career.
Potential Interns must be enrolled in an accredited University or College, not be on academic probation, and have a major such as Biology, Chemistry, Water Policy, Environmental Science, or something equivalent. The internship must be part of a course requirement. Students must have reliable transportation and provide their own lodging.
To apply, please email your resume to cfox@bcragd.org. Please include the following with your resume; a Cover letter stating your purpose for wanting the internship, your grade level, the number of internship hours needed to fulfill course requirements, and the semester in which the hours of the internship need to be completed. Once the resume and cover letter are received, the internship committee will review and determine if the applicant is a potential match. Once determined a match, a phone interview will be scheduled and the applicant will then need to provide an official transcript and two recommendation letters from current or past professors. Once a review of the recommendation letters and transcript are completed, and it is determined that the applicant is qualified, an in-person interview will be scheduled with the internship committee.
